The Male Species

A man's testicles increase in size by 50% when he is aroused.

The left testicle usually hangs lower than the right for right-handed men. The opposite is true for lefties.

-Semen:

Semen contains zinc, calcium and other minerals that fight tooth decay. As many a bloke will say, 'I rest my case...'

-Sperm:

The average man produces 100 million sperm at a rate of about 1000 a second every day.

-Having Sex on the Mind:

It’s estimated that men think of sex or have a sexually related thought once every eight minutes.

-Male Insecurities:

You might think guys don’t worry about what shape they’re in – but that’s not true. In a recent Cosmopolitan poll, almost 80% of men said they dream of having a more muscular physique.

-Does Size Matter?

The smallest erect penis on record was just 1cm long.

Three out of a thousand men (0.3%) are well endowed enough to fellate (blow) themselves to orgasm.

The Female Species

The clitoris has between 6000 and 8000 sensory nerve endings - more than any other organ in the body, including the penis. Lucky us!

-The Longest Female Orgasm:

The longest recorded female orgasm in history is 43 seconds, with 25 consecutive contractions, according to researchers Masters and Johnson.

-Orgasms and Pregnancy:

Women were discouraged from climaxing during the Middle Ages because it was believed it would limit their chances of getting pregnant. However, orgasms actually help you get pregnant as the vaginal walls contract rhythmically during climax, helping to push the semen up towards the cervix.

-On Faking Orgasms...:

Would you have guessed that studies show up to 70% of women have faked an orgasm at least once?

The Language of Sex

There actually exists such a thing as a sex dictionary. At last count the Dictionary of Sexual Terms contained 24 150 terms and expressions, 3 500 quotes, and 47 000 synonyms; whilst the Dictionary of the F-Word included 865 terms and expressions, 200 quotes, and 2 200 synonyms. Check out Sex-Lexis.com. Another source cites that there are more than 250 words for penis in the English language and about 200 for clitoris.

Fetishes

-Krismo...what?:

Krismolagnia is a form of sexual arousal and erotic gratification derived from tickling or being tickled. Not the most common of fetishes, but it's out there!

Miscellaneous

Chastetree is so named because it was believed to suppress the sex drive. In the Middle Ages, the monks chewed on the berries to help them keep their vows of celibacy.

Black cohosh is an effective remedy for vaginal dryness.
