Romance in the Bedroom
It is often said that colour is to the eyes what music is to the ears. You can use the psychology of colour creatively to achieve emotional, psychological and spiritual balance in your bedroom.
It's easier to transform a drab space into a welcoming haven than you might think. Try the following:
Passion Colours
Passion colours, such as red, purple, royal blue, rose, or the gilt of gold, add drama and indulgence to your bedroom.
Red is an exciting, sexy colour - it is generally associated with passion, love and power. Use splashed of red for strength, but be careful not to over-do it. Excess red can cause over-stimulation and restlessness. You'll find more tips to create passion in your bedroom on the bedroom sensuality page.
Pink is one of the most romantic and calming colours. It combines fiery red with white's purity, which symbolises a gentler emanation of love.
Purple makes a bedroom look sophisticated. Lavenders represent the healing presence of spiritual power.
Fragrant red, pink and purple flowers are a beautiful token of love in the bedroom.

Earth Tones
The earth tones like tans, rich browns, and ochre remind of our connection with nature. Oranges, apricots and yellow emanate warmth and joy. Yellow generally has a positive psychological effect on people, but tone it down with white or other colours to avoid irritation.
Nature's Song
Greens are healing and revitalising. In the bedroom these colours calm emotions and optimise restful nights.

Ocean hues
Blues evoke serenity and peace. They remind of the restful, relaxing presence of water and sky.
Black and White
The two extreme colors are white and black. Black is an attention grabber, and can create a bedroom with a dark, sultry look. Unfortunately it will also make the room look smaller. Overuse of the color black can be risky in a bedroom, as it can easily darken you mood.
Its polar opposite, white, depicts innocence and purity. It has a positive and soothing effect on one's emotions, but it may also symbolise isolation and loneliness. White is a good colour for bedrooms in warm climates as it reflects light, which create cooler temperatures and a breezy feeling.

A combination of black and white can be a stunning choice for your bedroom, especially if you prefer an ultra modern theme.
