Online Dating: Finding the Man of My Dreams

Reader Post: I recently got divorced and spent a lot of time healing from the after effects of my relationship with my ex-husband. Things were so bad with him I felt like I would never find someone who was capable of having a normal, loving relationship. Still, I was committed to trying, even though I knew it would be difficult. Since I live in a small town where I know everyone, it was difficult to find someone to date. I decided to try online dating in an effort to meet someone in a nearby town that I might not otherwise have an opportunity to make a connection with.

I did not have very high hopes because I was forced to create a profile at a free site. I did not have any spare money to invest in a paid site, so I figured something was better than nothing. At first, I did not see anyone who tickled my fancy, but I kept plugging away hoping that I would find luck. I am so glad I did! After about a month, I got a message from a guy that really seemed like he had his stuff together. He was also recently divorced and had custody of his two children. He and I went on a date and hit it off immediately!

Before long, we were in a full blown relationship and things were really great! I was able to see clearly all of the ways that my ex-husband had failed and realized that I was, in fact, a good partner. My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 8 months now and have decided that it is time that we meet each other's children. This is a huge step and a decision that we did not take lightly. I hope to spend the rest of my life with this wonderful man!
