More Followers on Twitter

Are you interested in getting more followers on Twitter? It's easier than you think.
There's a simple formula that you can use to increase your followers on Twitter; all it takes is a little bit of time to follow through.
Here's how to do it:
Increase your Twitter Followers
The formula works on the principle that approximately 20% - 50% of the people you follow first, will follow you back. So here are the steps:
Step 1: Upload a Photo and Create an Interesting Bio
Is this really necessary? Yes! In fact, if you want more followers on Twitter, it's crucial.
It's okay to use an avatar if you're building a brand, but people would really like to see your face. It has to do with trust, see? It's easier for people to interact with others that are transparent about who they are and what their motives are.
Also make sure that you have an interesting bio that provides some information about what you and your service or product are about. Put some thought into it and ask yourself: Would I like to follow someone who has this bio?
With social networking you have to put yourself in your potential followers' shoes. How can you make yourself more interesting to them? How can you add value to their networks?
Step 2: Post Valuable Content
If you want more followers on Twitter, you have to post valuable content. This includes positive, affirming statements; quotes; links to content that your followers might find useful; and re-tweets.
I recommend that you post at least 10 - 20 of these per day in addition to the occasional plug for your own web site, blog, product or service.
Don't make the mistake of overwhelming your visitors with links to your own site. If you belong to

your supporters will help you to promote your business in a more natural way.
Step 3: Remove all your Non-Mutual Followers
Since the goals of being on Twitter include social networking and interaction, I recommend a mutual-following policy. If you are following people and they choose not to follow you back, it's a sign that they're not interested in you or your product. That's perfectly fine, but wouldn't you rather follow people who actually want to communicate with you?
Here's how to remove non-mutual followers:
1.Go to your Twitter Home Page
2.Click on "Following"
You will see a bunch of names listed. Some names
will say "Direct Message" under them, some won't.
Direct Message - They are following you (Mutual Follower)
No Direct Message - They are not following you(Non-Mutual Follower)
3.Scroll through the list and remove all non-mutual followers (The Remove Button is on the right side.)
4.Keep hitting 'next' to go to the next page and repeat the process.
Step 4: Find New People to Follow
You can follow new people at a rate of up to about 250 - 300 per day, as long as you diligently remove non-followers. You are not allowed a discrepancy of more than 300 between your following and your follower numbers.
Personally I try to grow my network by following about 100 new people daily, but it really depends on how much time I have to devote to Twitter on any given day.
Step 5: Post @ Replies
Keep in mind that Twitter is about social interaction. It's important to communicate with your followers and let them know that you value them. The best way to do this is by using @ replies. Keep an eye on the Twitter stream and offer relevant, friendly comments to what-ever your followers post.
I recommend that you do at least 10 - 20 @ replies per day.
You can also welcome new followers by sending them either @ replies or direct messages, although this depends on how much time you have to spend on Twitter.
Step 6: Putting it all Together
The people who do best in social networking are those who are naturally friendly, positive and uplifting, or provide a whole heap of value to other people's networks (unless you're a celebrity... then you don't have to do much to be followed anyway). If you enjoy the interaction with others, people will naturally gravitate to you and want to follow you.
Social networking is time-consuming, but extremely rewarding. The more followers on Twitter you have, the greater your sphere of influence.
If people unfollow you, don't ever take it personally. People have their own agendas that you know nothing about. Focus your efforts on the thousands of Twitterers who would like to build a relationship with you and have a blast!
