It Wasn't Easy...But We Made It

I met Trisha online. When everyone was giving me a hard time about checking out those online dating sites, I still stuck with it. I had not found real love around me, so why not try online?

Trisha was everything I could have wanted. Sweet, cute, funny, and intelligent. No, she wasn't perfect, but she was perfect for me. We started chatting online, moved on to phone conversations, and then we decided to meet.

The only problem was that we lived across the country from each other. She lived in Arizona and I lived in North Carolina. That's quite a trip, whether you drive or fly.

Once we met, we knew we were in love, but neither of us were in a position to pick up and move. So, after a wonderful weekend together, I went back to North Carolina. I hated that. I had to leave her.

The next few months we spent on the phone, using IM, and trying to fly back and forth. It was a tough few months. Eventually I couldn't deal with it anymore and I started looking for a job in Arizona. I found one, made the move, and now we are engaged.

Yes, it had some tough turns. Long distance relationships, even online, aren't easy. However, we're glad we stuck it out, and I look forward to a lifetime of togetherness - no computer in between us!
