I read an interesting cybersex article written by Julie Spira on the Huffington Post this morning, entitled 'To Sext or not to Sext.'
Julie discussed the pros and cons of cybersex, and commented on a panel discussion on The Tyra Show, where four women who regularly engage in sexting, including sending sexy text messages, sending nude photos, and using the webcam to spice up their relationships, said it's a great thing.
I agree that both sexting and cybersex can be a wonderful tool to enhance a relationship, but as always in these discussions, the safety aspect need to be considered when strangers are involved.
The following online dating and cybersex tips as outlined in the article will go a long way towards making these practices safer:
* Never Give Out Your Last Name * Never Give Out Your Address * Never Talk About Money * Always Meet In A Public Place * Use the "Buddy System" (Tell a Friend Where You'll Be and Who You'll Be With) * If You're Uncomfortable, Get Up and Leave
With sexting in particular, you really need to consider your reputation. Do you really trust someone enough to send them nude or semi-nude photos of yourself? Before you press the 'send' button, think! Remember if your personals end up online, the Internet has a permanent footprint.
You can read more about cybersex here. We would also love for you to tell us about your own cybersex experiences - good or bad. Through sharing we can all support and learn from each other.
